The Daffodil Cafe is an opportunity for people with dementia and those who support them to come together in a safe space to build connections, share their experiences and feel supported by others who understand.
This activity is good for wellbeing because
- Social connection is great for building a sense of community and reducing the risk of isolation or loneliness
- Interaction with others helps with cognitive function so chatting with other group members or even just being in the company of others is beneficial for all of us
- Being able to share concerns with people facing similar challenges can help lift your mood and find out about other sources of support

What to Expect
The Daffodil Club welcomes anyone who has been touched by a dementia diagnosis, including family and carers. You'll be offered a hot drink and biscuits and welcomed to join what is often a lively group. Some people choose to join in a game of dominoes or have a go at a boardgame. You can participate as much or as little as suits you.
Whilst the volunteers at The Daffodil Club are not care providers, for attendees supporting someone who needs company and they're familiar enough with the group to feel comfortable, please discuss with the group leader should you need to go and run an errand or similar whilst your loved one remains.
