Ely Netball Club welcomes adult players (18+) of all abilities and is always happy to have new members. They are a friendly group who offer the opportunity to play competitive netball in a variety of different ways - training sessions plus friendly and/or league matches.
This activity is good for wellbeing because
- Team sports are a great way to connect with people: Ely Netball Club is an inclusive and friendly environment where meeting people comes easily
- Participating in netball requires you to be active – running, walking and generally moving your body – so you can improve your physical fitness whilst having fun outdoors
- You are always learning: improving your netball skills is a challenge and mastering a new skill can give you a great sense of achievement
‘I’ve been with Ely Netball club for a year now. I love everything about it. Everyone is always friendly and encouraging, we have great coaches who are knowledgeable but understanding, and the game itself is such good fun. I would highly recommend it to anyone who’s thinking of joining a new sports club.’

What to Expect
If you’re interested in joining a training session, email [email protected]. They’ll send across all the information you need and look out for you on your first day. You’ll need to be ‘netball ready’ before you arrive, meaning long hair is tied back, short nails, suitable sports wear & trainers plus removing jewellery. There is not access to changing facilities but toilets are available in the sports hall next to the courts. Take some water with you.
Sessions include a warm up, coaching on skills with practise time and game scenarios. Ely Netball Club has a flexible approach to getting people involved in the sport – some members enjoy the training sessions, others like friendly matches and some want to take part in competitive leagues. The club currently has 3 teams in the Cambridge District Netball League, one each in divisions 3, 4 and 5. The club also takes part in the more relaxed Fenland League where they have one team entered.
