Peacocks Meadow is a community garden in central Littleport, which has been developed in to a welcoming, wildlife-friendly space for everyone to enjoy
This activity is good for wellbeing because
- Spending time outside is great for mental wellbeing so having a community space within the town makes this accessible to more people
- Working on projects together helps build connections, from which community members enjoy a sense of belonging
- Peacocks Meadow has an eco-friendly ethos; for many, nurturing a wildlife friendly area and watching a green space flourish can boost morale and reduce stress

What to Expect
The community garden is at the very end of Limes Close, where there is parking if you need it. The entrance is clearly signed. You'll find an acre of space to enjoy, which includes a woodland area, some raised beds and a choice of places to sit. The designated 'Toad Hall' pond habitat is fenced off to protect the plants and wildlife and also to keep young children safe.
The entrance way is wide and there is a surfaced path around the site plus no steps, making it fairly accessible, although parts of the site are uneven (as part of the re-wilding approach) and therefore those with restricted mobility should take care if leaving the path.
More Information
Everyone is welcome to visit Peacocks Meadow at any time and it is a great spot for picnics. To make sure the garden is looked after for all the community to enjoy, please remember to keep dogs on leads, clear up after your dog and put any litter in the bin provided. Please don't allow children to:
- Climb the trees
- Climb into the planters
- Remove decorative items from the planters
- Climb on the fence surrounding the pond
- Throw toys into the pond
If you're interested in finding out about any future projects in the garden, the best way is by following the Facebook page.

There is no cost associated with enjoying Peacocks Meadow. Occasionally, the Facebook page may ask if anyone has materials to re-purpose or time to contribute to specific projects.
