Revive Postpartum Rehab Group

Back to Activities

Revive Postpartum Rehab Group focuses on mothers' recovery after birth, recognising the toll on their bodies from pregnancy and birth. This space is to empower women to focus on themselves and optimally recover with very gentle exercises for lasting wellness.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • It focuses on women's health and encourages women to think about themselves after child birth
  • You will receive expert guidance in how to gently exercise using movements suitable for your body, also helping reconnect you to your pelvic floor and core
  • It is in a supportive group setting of mothers with similar aged babies who know what it is like to have a newborn.

What to Expect

The group is for women with 3-9 month old babies. It is a mother and baby group where babies are welcome. The course is a six week series, for an hour a week (10am on Fridays). If you need to leave sooner that's totally fine.  Also, baby feeding and attending to your baby is expected and won't disrupt the session. Emma runs the course herself  and, at each session, will greet you in reception inside the Child and Family Centre.

A different topic will be covered each week such as breathing patterns, engaging pelvic floor, gentle core exercises which will be safe and gentle. It is suitable for those who exercise a lot or those who doesn't exercise. It is not a fitness class, more an introduction to gentle and healing exercises which will be done lying on the floor with your baby usually involved. You can bring a female chaperone if it makes you feel more comfortable.
