Sing! Choirs

Back to Activities

Sing! Choirs are open to anyone who loves to sing! There are no auditions and no need to read music. There are two weekly choir meetings in Ely, singing a range of pop and rock songs, as well as songs from the shows.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • Singing is proven to be excellent for both physical and mental health;
  • You get to spend time in a supportive and friendly group, who all have one common goal – to have fun!
  • It’s a great way of meeting people, socialising and forming new friendships.

“I just wanted to let you know how much I loved tonight. There was a lovely feeling in the hall. My fit bit heart beat was lower whilst singing than it had been all day”

“I had an absolutely wonderful time and enjoyed every minute. It was therapeutic in many ways, and really took me out of myself.”

What to expect

No prior experience needed, and you don’t need to be able to read music – if you love singing then you will be a welcome member!  It’s likely that you’ll recognise many of the song choices and Kathryn, the choir leader, will guide you through the arrangements. The emphasis is on enjoying the positive atmosphere and encouraging each other.

There are regular opportunities to perform with the choir, supporting local charities and community events. Everyone is welcome to take part in these performances, but there is no pressure to perform.
