_NHS Healthcare – registering with a GP

Back to Support

Anyone in England can register with a GP surgery and access the National Health Service. It's free to register. You do not need proof of address or immigration status, ID or an NHS number.

General practitioners (GPs) treat all common medical conditions and refer patients to hospitals and other medical services for urgent and specialist treatment from the National Health Service. GPs work in teams called practices or surgeries.
