Relate Cambridgeshire – Relationship Counselling

Back to Support

Relate provides counselling support for individuals, couples, families, children and young people. It also provides sex therapy. In East Cambs, counselling is offered online or face-to-face in Cambridge.

What to expect

To register your interest in counselling with Relate by calling or by sending an email. Once registered, you will be offered an appointment with an experienced counsellor but this is not a counselling session. It is an opportunity for the counsellor to talk to you about your situation and collect some background information in order to assess whether Relate’s services will be helpful to you. This appointment lasts up to 50 minutes. If, at the end of the session, you and the counsellor agree ongoing counselling will be helpful, the next steps will be explained.

Relate offers face-to-face counselling sessions in Cambridge. Online counselling can be accessed from anywhere.

This service is delivered in one session but if you and the counsellor agree that further sessions would be helpful we may be able to offer these. Find out more here.
  • Autism Relationship Counselling – relationship support for couples where one or both may be affected by Autism.

  • Check-in Service – Sometimes it helps to know that once you have completed your counselling you can come back and talk to your counsellor again. This service gives you an opportunity, in one or two-one off sessions, to remind yourself of important conversations you had in counselling or refresh your memory about strategies that you found helpful; or perhaps revisit aspects of your difficulties that may need attention.
