Dementia Friendly Groups in East Cambs

Back to Activities

Groups of local people supporting those with dementia and their carers. Some groups are dementia-specific, others are supportive and inclusive to all. You can expect a warm welcome, some chat and usually light refreshments.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • meeting people who have similar experiences can make us feel less alone
  • living with memory loss, for example, can make socialising difficult but these groups offer understanding and support
  • people with similar challenges can share practical tips and signposting to places to seek support

  • Ely Dementia Cafe - Held in Ely Library on the 2nd Friday of the month, 10am- noon. This is free to attend and you do not need to book, just go along on the day. Hot drinks are provided.
  • Larkfield Community Centre, Ely - Every wednesday 10am-noon. This sessions is free to attend, refreshments can be purchased from the excellent cafe on site.
  • Queens Court MHA in Bottisham - Various activities run throughout the week. There is also local transport available to get to this venue. Find out more here
