Yoga Path with Vimala

Back to Activities

Yoga Path with Vimala offers a range of practices, standards and formats for anyone new to or experienced in yoga and breathwork. Vimala herself is absolutely dedicated to every individual fulfilling their health and fitness potential, leading with compassion.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • Gentle movement practices like yoga develop strength, flexibility, mobility and contribute to relaxation
  • Breathwork can balance your nervous system, boost your digestion, help manage stress and improve sleep.
  • Joining a regular class can help with forming good habits and offers opportunities for social connection

‘Coming to class helps me feel supple and, as the primary carer for my husband, coming to class helps me stay sane!’

‘I come for my fitness and the peace I get from the meditation’

What to Expect

Yoga Path teaches both online and in-person. For in-person classes, Vimala will greet you and make sure you have a space in the room where you’re comfortable. Although it’s likely people in the class may already know each other, the culture is welcoming and inclusive so other people will say hello as they arrive.

Most classes require a yoga mat so do take your own if you have one. Vimala brings extras to borrow if needed. It’s also a good idea to take a water bottle with you.

Classes start gently and you’ll be guided by Vimala who will demonstrate poses and sequences and also offer adjustments as you progress.

Depending on which class you attend, the format will vary; there are outlines of what to expect from each here. If you’re not sure which class(es) would suit you best do get in touch with Vimala and she’ll help you to decide.

Choices include:

  • Seniors, Beginners & Return
  • Improvers and Intermediate Yoga
  • Advanced Hatha Yoga & Yoga Flow
  • Yin Yoga
  • Strength & Tone Fitness

More Information

Vimala’s classes for older adults are part of Forever Active‘s strength and balance series which has classes across Cambridgeshire.

One of Vimala’s real skills as a teacher is adapting moves/poses/sequences to suit every class member whilst remaining true to the practice and still encouraging people to gently improve week on week.

Yoga Path also offer corporate yoga and mindfulness as one-off sessions, workshops and regular schedules. You can discuss your idea with Vimala.

There is a cost for attending classes. This can be paid per session or you can purchase a monthly pass for unlimited classes. Both options are available when you book via the website. The current timetable and booking form can be found here.
