Helping Hands is a gardening service aimed at people who are unable to tend to their gardens for various reasons such as illness, disability or age. A small team of volunteers will undertake whatever work you direct them to at a pre-arranged time to suit.

There gardening service is aimed at people who are unable to tend to their gardens for various reasons such as illness, disability or age.

The service can tackle most basic jobs in the garden including weeding, pruning, shrub removal, painting fences, hedge trimming, mowing and rotovating, planting new plants and general tidy up, including garden clearance (please note we are only able to take away garden rubbish – no sofas or fencing).

What to expect from Helping Hands?

The service operates on Mondays to Thursdays between 9.30am and 1.30pm, although they will be out and about assisting people with their gardens so please leave and message on 01353 666556 OR email [email protected] and they will get back to you.

  • On average, 4 or 5 people will tend to your garden, depending on volunteer availability
  • The benefits to the client can range from a quick garden tidy up to a complete garden makeover.

One client said

“I can no longer do it myself and my garden always looks much better afterwards”.

 

The suggested donation is £25 per hour to cover costs which are around £91 per day.

This donation covers fuel, office overheads, maintenance of the gardening equipment, staff costs and volunteer expenses.
