The Social Car Scheme run by VCAEC offers door-to-door transport to people who are frail, elderly, disabled or isolated. They will help to facilitate any journey that would otherwise be difficult but priority is given to medical appointments.

What to expect?

If you would like to use this service user please contact our Volunteer Administrator on the car desk on 01353 666553 or email [email protected].

The desk is usually open between 9.30 and 12.30 Monday to Thursday.  There is an answerphone at all other times.

The Social Car Scheme offers door-to-door transport to people who are frail, elderly, disabled and isolated.

Potential destinations include the following ; doctors, dentists, shopping, opticians, chiropodists, vets,
hospital, hearing/sight tests, visit friends & relatives who are in hospital or care homes

Priority is given to medical appointments

They have around 25 volunteer drivers and the volunteer office staff supporting the service.
